About Sugar Circle Watch
Editorial principles and limits

What this site is

Sugar Circle Watch is an independent editorial project about sugar dating, financial support, scams and the legal issues around them in China.

It does not offer matching, introductions, recruitment, transactions or contact details, and it does not accept paid placement from sugar-dating platforms or agencies.

About the English edition

The English pages are condensed, adapted editions of the Chinese originals. They are not word-for-word translations; some local detail is shortened and the legal references are framed for an international reader.

Where the two versions differ, the Chinese page is the longer reference text. Both are educational and neither is legal advice.

Where the material comes from

Material is assembled from public anti-fraud information, official legal databases, public reporting and established psychology concepts.

Cases are anonymized composites. Names, amounts, occupations and locations are changed, and no case is presented as a factual accusation against a specific person or company.

How the tools work

The toolkit is a structure for organising a timeline and evidence. The legal index helps identify an area of law but does not decide a case. The self-check runs entirely in the browser and does not save or upload answers.

None of these tools replaces a lawyer, the police or a qualified psychological service.

Editorial principles

  • Do not present dependency as a shortcut or a lifestyle goal.
  • Do not provide matching, introductions, recruitment or contact details.
  • Do not accuse an unverified person or platform of a crime.
  • Anonymize cases and avoid details that could identify someone.
  • Label legal content as information, not advice.
  • Correct errors and update the review date.

Review process

  • Topic selection: only explanation, safety, psychology and legal risk.
  • Sources: public reporting, official texts and verifiable public information.
  • Writing: separate facts, composite cases and opinion.
  • Review: check legal wording, privacy and possible secondary harm.
  • Update: correct errors and change the date.

Independence and conflicts

The site does not accept paid posts from sugar-dating platforms, matchmakers, MCN agencies or related businesses. It does not sell removal of articles or use counselling as a lead-generation funnel.

If a sponsorship or partnership ever appears, it will be labelled clearly and will not change the editorial conclusions.

How to use the site

For background, start with the observation section. For a safety concern, go to scams or the risk self-check. For a legal question, use the index and then consult a lawyer or 12348.

If you are in immediate danger, call 110. Do not rely on a website instead of real-world help.
